The Idea
One day, during those years of clash and confusion, both in daily life and on-line, a new idea was conceived: Efmevi .
Efmevi is the name of a Lenten hymn response and a Coptic word meaning "thought", "mind", "intellect". It seemed like the perfect name for this new idea: a website that would be a refuge for the ostracized and condemned by the Egyptian Orthodox community.
The first incarnation of the website was a phpBB-powered message board that attracted a negligible following. It soon disappeared. Efmevi never did though.
